NEWS
Jimmy is the Winner of this year’s Downbeat Award for
Original Composition – lead sheet
for his composition Short Stop

Jimmy has been selected as the 2012-2013 Stanford Jazz Mentor on drums. He will be in residency at the Stanford Jazz Camp located on the beautiful campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, from July 14th through July 27th conducting master classes, combos, lessons, etc. In addition, he will be invited back to take up this residency again in the summer of 2013.

Jimmy performed with the legendary Herbie Hancock at a sold-out concert in celebration of Ron Carter at Avery Fisher Hall. The magical evening was a fundraiser for a scholarship in Ron Carter's name, and featured such notables as Christian McBride, Lewis Nash, Mulgrew Miller and Benny Golson. To donate to this scholarship fund, send a check made out to The Juilliard School and send it to the school's office of Development & Public Affairs at 60 Lincoln Center Plaza, NY, NY 10023. Put Ron Carter Scholarship Fund in the memo line.

Jimmy has been awarded a 2012 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award for his composition Short Stop.
