2009 NEXT GENERATION JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Jimmy has been selected to be a member of the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. The group did a Midwest tour this past summer, and will perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival with Wynton Marsalis on September 20th. The is the second time Jimmy has been invited to perform with this highly select group.

BETTY CARTER JAZZ AHEAD
Jimmy was chosen to be part of the residency program at the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program at the Kennedy Center. This two-week residency culminated in several concerts at the Kennedy Center. All concerts were webcast as well as archived for future viewing. The dates of the concerts were April 1st,2nd & 3rd. For more info Click here!

New Jazz in the Park will take place on June 10th, 7:30 PM, at the Pond House in Elizabeth Park, Hartford. The guests this year are Joel Frahm, Earl MacDonald & Henry Lugo. This is a free concert.
MONTEREY JAZZ FESTIVAL
Jimmy performed with the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra at the Monterey Jazz Festival in September. The concerts featured Maceo Parker and Christian McBride. Check back soon for some video clips from these concerts.

Jimmy is the recipient of an ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composers Award for his piece Tenure. His piece was one of 23 works to be so recognized. Jimmy was honored at the ASCAP Jazz Wall Event at Jazz at Lincoln Center on June 1st.
